How do you view you're acceptance with God?

We have a tendency to consider our position with God based on the quality of our behavior. This is a lie we must reject by reminding ourselves of the nature of what the gospel brings us.

It's our reliance on Christ's life, death and resurrection, apart from our good or bad behavior or thoughts, that is the basis of our redemption. Please here me on thus: Regardless of how we sin or how we grow in holiness, we are accepted for Christ's sake, or not accepted at all.

There is nothing we can do to make us more or less acceptable to God. It is very helpful to try and start the day with this thought as a reminder. Outside of ourselves to Christ is where we must look. Only in reliance on who he is and what he has done on our behalf do we stand before God clothed in perfect righteousness.
